Booking conditions

Booking conditions for Daftö Resort in Strömstad - 2024

This agreement applies to the rental of pitches for tents, caravans, mobile homes. Date-controlled tickets as well as for renting cabins and hotel rooms. In addition to these conditions, the rules of order must be followed when you live and stay with us. In the event of an event beyond our control, we reserve the right to move you to equivalent accommodation.

Age limit for booking and access

18 years or accompanied by a guardian applies when booking and staying overnight. Identification may take place upon arrival. Exceptions apply to groups such as schools/associations.

Booking confirmation

You will receive a written confirmation of your booking. Check that the content of the booking confirmation matches what you booked. If you find inaccuracies in the confirmation, you must inform us of this as soon as possible.

When does my booking become binding?

The booking becomes binding when you have received a confirmation from us.

Open purchase for 24 hours

You have an open purchase for 24 hours if there are more than 7 days left until arrival.

When should I pay for the stay?

When booking a cabin, camping and hotel:

You pay at least 10% of the amount at the time of booking. If you book earlier than 30 days before arrival, you can choose to pay in installments. The partial payment acts as a down payment and is then deducted from the final payment.

If you choose to pay the booking in installments and also choose to buy cancellation protection, the cost of this must be paid in connection with the first payment. If you have chosen to pay in part, the remaining amount must be paid no later than 30 days before arrival if you have booked a camping site, cabin or hotel. If the booking is made 30 days before arrival or later, the full amount must be paid at the time of booking.

Late or non-payment

If you do not pay your installments on time, we have the right to cancel your booking. If you are late with your final payment and despite reminders do not pay the full amount, it is considered a cancellation on your part and then the rules for cancellation apply.

What if I want to cancel?

You can cancel by phone or by e-mail. For cancellation, the following cancellation conditions apply.

Cancellation of tickets

For cancellation of date-controlled tickets such as to Daftöland, swimming pool or treasury island, free cancellation applies up to 48 hours before.

After 48 hours up to 2 hours before the ticket's start time, 50% of the ticket price is refunded. For cancellations later than 2 hours before, the ticket is not reimbursed at all.

Gift cards

Can be used to pay for accommodation, Daftöland entrance and pool tickets. The validity period is 2 years from the date of purchase, cannot be exchanged or redeemed for money. A 14-day right of withdrawal applies to digital purchases.

Cancellation protection in three levels

At the time of booking, you can purchase cancellation protection. We offer cancellation protection in three different levels both for unforeseen events and for flexibility regarding rebooking. You can also choose to waive cancellation protection entirely, in which case no refund will be given in case of cancellation or if the stay is interrupted.

Cancellation protection Bronze

The cancellation protection means that you can cancel up to the agreed arrival date if something happens to you, your family or next of kin, which means that you cannot travel. Your impediment is for valid reasons and must be substantiated with a relevant certificate from e.g. doctor or insurance company. The certificate must reach us no later than 30 days after the date the stay is cancelled.
The cancellation protection also gives you the right to cancel your current stay and recover an amount corresponding to the part of your stay that you could not use if any of the points for valid reasons below occur. The cost of the cancellation protection is not refunded. No rebooking included.

Cancellation protection Silver
– with more flexible rebooking and cancellation conditions

Silver means you have free rebooking and cancellation for any reason up to 14 days before your arrival. 13 days or closer to your arrival, you can rebook or cancel with valid reasons that must be proven with a relevant certificate from e.g. doctor or insurance company. The certificate must reach us no later than 30 days after the date the stay is cancelled. The cancellation protection also gives you the right to cancel your current stay and recover an amount corresponding to the part of the stay you were unable to use if any of the points under valid reasons for using the cancellation protection below occur. The cost of the cancellation protection is not refunded.

Cancellation protection Gold
- our most flexible rebooking and cancellation terms

Gold means that you have free rebooking and cancellation for any reason until the day before your arrival date at 3 p.m. After that, you can rebook or cancel with valid reasons that must be proven with a relevant certificate from e.g. doctor or insurance company. The certificate must reach us no later than 30 days after the date the stay is cancelled.

Valid reasons for using the cancellation protection are:

  • In case of death, illness or accident of a serious nature that affected you, your spouse, partner, your parents, children, siblings or fellow traveler
  • That some other serious event occurs beyond your control, e.g. extensive fire or flooding in your home, complications during pregnancy or childbirth which means that it is not reasonable to request that you stand by your booking.
  • When called up to the Armed Forces or the civil defence
  • If you are prevented from completing your booking due to unemployment or new employment.

    Your disability must be able to be proven with a relevant certificate from e.g. doctor or insurance company. The certificate must reach us no later than 30 days after the cancellation date.

What rights do I have?

In the event of a breach of contract, serious disruptions or if the service otherwise deviates from information that we have provided or what you could have reasonably expected, you have the right to demand remedial action, price reduction or cancellation. Breach of contract or other lack of service due to reasons beyond our control does not entitle to compensation according to this agreement (see section Limits of the campsite's control responsibility below). Errors that occur during your stay must be reported to us immediately so that we have the opportunity to remedy the error. If you fail to report errors, you cannot claim compensation either. If you received compensation but are not satisfied with it, you must notify us within 21 days of departure. This can be done orally, in writing or via e-mail. We recommend email.

Limits for the facility's control responsibility

In the event that the stay cannot be carried out due to an obstacle beyond our control and which we could not reasonably have expected to have anticipated when the agreement was concluded and whose consequences we could not reasonably have avoided or overcome, we are free from liability for damages or other penalties. If the obstacle is due to someone we hired to fully or partially carry out the camping service, we are only free from liability for damages if the person we hired would also be free according to the paragraph above. The same applies if the deficiency is due to a supplier that we have engaged or someone else in the previous ranks.

What are my obligations?

Rules and regulations apply during the stay at the campsite. Violation of order regulations for the facility, or breach of the agreement in general, may lead to the agreement being terminated with immediate effect. If the contract is terminated, the due amount is calculated based on the current daily price applied during the time you had access to the location, as well as a deduction for estimated damage. What if we don't agree?

If we cannot agree, you can e.g. take the help of the following dispute resolution bodies:

The General Complaints Board (see address below) The General Complaints Board is an approved dispute resolution body under the Alternatives Act
dispute resolution. We will follow ARN's recommendations.

We do not undertake to participate in alternative dispute resolution procedures other than the General Complaints Board (ARN) and Visita, but will take a position on this issue in the event of a dispute. You have the right to request the correction of any changed or incorrect information at any time. If you give your active consent, we may use the personal data for marketing our business.

Right of withdrawal

The right of withdrawal according to the law (2005:59) on distance contracts and contracts outside business premises is excluded from contracts for accommodation, accommodation or leisure activities and thus you cannot cancel an agreement for the rental of pitches for tents, caravans and mobile homes or cabins/rooms and date-controlled tickets.

The Personal Data Act

We are responsible for processing the personal data you provide in connection with booking (such as name, address and telephone number). We will process the personal data for the purpose of administering booking and payment, as well as to otherwise be able to fulfill our obligations and safeguard rights according to the agreements entered into with you. The data may be disclosed to debt collection companies, authorities/courts for collection, determination and fulfillment of your contractual obligations. You have the right once a year, free of charge, upon written request, to see what information has been registered, information about how this is used, where the information has been taken from, and to receive information about any recipients to whom the information has been disclosed.
