Flavourful experiences in Bohuslän

Discover Bohuslän through its flavours! In Strömstad, accommodation providers, restaurants, farm shops and local food producers offer experiences where the Koster Sea and local flavours take centre stage.

2–11 October

From 2–11 October, there’s even more to taste and experience as several businesses across Bohuslän come together to contribute their own specialities to the table.

Step aboard a boat and head out into Kosterhavet, Sweden’s first marine national park, or visit a farm shop and discover how local products are made.

Lobster safari

Join Selin Charter for an authentic lobster safari in Bohuslän. Experience lobster fishing on Sweden’s west coast together with knowledgeable and experienced fishermen who bring you closer to the craft, the sea and the stories behind the hunt for “the black gold of the sea”.

Lobster at Kläpphagen, Koster

Experience lobster season at Kläpphagen and the Koster Islands! Enjoy a 7-course lobster dinner, available to book on five selected Saturdays from 26 September to 24 October.

Oyster tasting on Tjärnö

Experience an oyster safari with an introduction to oysters, harvesting, shucking and tasting. At 12 noon every day from 2–11 October.

Guided tour of a craft distillery and gin exhibition

Welcome to a micro-distillery in Strömstad. Discover the craft of distilling on an informative guided tour, enjoy a tasting and visit the on-site farm shop. You can also explore a unique collection of 1,600 different unopened bottles from more than 60 countries, all on display at the distillery!

Local food producers and farm shops

Visit local farm shops and food producers to discover how their products are made. Silje-Eks Havtorn grows, processes and sells a variety of sea buckthorn products. At Kosterlamm, you can buy organic lamb and mutton as well as sheepskin products. At Nöddö Musteri, they make apple juice from their own organically grown apples.

Naturum

Step aboard the boat that takes you from central Strömstad to Koster, where you can visit Naturum, among other attractions. Here, you can get a close-up look at life beneath the surface and learn more about the marine environment.
